SULLIVAN, Ill. (WAND) - The City of Sullivan has extended its water emergency through June.
The City stated that restrictions will be extended through June 1, and the change lets it continue necessary conservation measures and adjustments.
Sullivan first announced the emergency on Facebook on Feb. 11 over ongoing drought conditions in the area. Â
Water restrictions will only be limited to non-essential use, and residents are urged to conserve water.Â
Residents are urged not to water their lawns, fill swimming pools, or personally wash their cars during this time.Â
The City said that anyone violating the restrictions can be fined up to $750 per offense.Â
Sullivan is the largest city in Moultrie County and is just over 30 minutes from Decatur.Â
