WATSON, Ill. (WAND) — A train hit two vehicles in Effingham County Friday night.
According to a post by the Watson Fire Protection District, crews responded after reports of a train hitting two vehicles near Watson.
Photos posted by WFPD show the wreckage from the crash. One car is completely torn up, while a pickup truck appears to have less severe damage. The crash also knocked down the railroad crossing gates.
Firefighters said everyone got out of the vehicles before the train hit, and there were no injuries.
It is unclear what crossing it happened at or what caused the crash.
WAND News has reached out to WFPD but has not heard back.
