DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — The first snowfall of the season meant a busy weekend for tow truck companies across the Central Illinois area.

The first snowfall of the season meant a busy weekend for tow truck companies across the Central Illinois area.

"When the snow hit, a lot of people had to tow and pull out of ditches, a lot," said Wes Campbell, a manager at TMG Towing.

Trenton Gilman, a part-owner at TMG, said that after seeing the influx of clients, he had one piece of advice for folks hitting the road during a storm.

"Stay home. That's about the only advice we can give is stay home," Gilman said.

But if you need to get out on the road, there is no need to worry, Campbell said they are ready.

"We've got five trucks ready to roll at any time. Plus, we've got a truck which got a built-in winch to pull people out of ditches, so we're ready at any time," Campbell said.

TMG Towing & Recovery also provides free services to seniors and veterans.
