DECATUR, Ill. (WAND)- MacArthur High School is postponing the special track dedication ceremony in honor of William "Bill" Harbeck, to October 11, 2024.
Harbeck coached track for more than 50 years, most of them coming at MacArthur.Â
The coaching legend passed away in May.
The dedication slated for Sept. 27 is being postponed for weather reasons.
It is now scheduled to take place Oct. 11, at 5:30 p.m. before the kickoff of the MacArthur versus Rochester football game.
DPS 61 representatives said, "Coach Harbeck's unwavering dedication and passion for track and field have left an indelible mark on our community, inspiring countless athletes and students over the years."
