CHARLESTON, Ill. (WAND) - A man arrested after being accused of stabbing two people in Charleston has pleaded not guilty.  

According to court records, Aidan Pruiett pleaded not guilty to the charges.  

Charleston police were called just after 6:30 a.m. Jan. 4 to the 1100 block of 6th St. Officers found one person had been stabbed. 

The person was taken to the hospital for treatment. 

Officers said during their investigation, they learned a second person had also been stabbed. Neither person sustained life-threatening injuries. 

CPD said as a result of their investigation, a warrant was obtained for Pruiett for Aggravated Battery. 

Pruiett was arrested and placed in the Coles County Jail. A judge ordered him to remain in jail until his status hearing at 10 a.m. Feb. 23.
