DANVILLE. Ill. (WAND) - A man who was on pretrial release after he was accused of burglarizing businesses in Danville was arrested again after two businesses were broken into.

On Tuesday, the Danville Police Department was called out for two separate burglary calls at businesses within a block of each other.

At 1:22 a.m., officers were called out for an alarm at Firehouse Fish Chicken & Grill at 610 E. Main St. Officers found broken glass on the front door, but no one was inside.

At 9:28 p.m., they were called to Watson Tire & Automotive Service at 700 E. Main St. for an alarm. Officers found the business had been burglarized. They were able to get video surveillance of a suspect.

On Wednesday at 1:49 a.m., an officer saw someone wearing the same clothing as the suspect from the video surveillance walking near the intersection of Main St. and Corrine St. Officers stopped him, and he identified himself as 33-year-old Jeffery Ashby of Danville.

Officers learned Ashby was on pretrial release and wearing an ankle monitor from a previous burglary that happened in the same area of the city in August.

Ashby was arrested for burglary and criminal damage to property over $500 stemming from Watson Tire & Automotive.

Detectives said they also found evidence that led to Ashby being booked for the burglary that occurred at Firehouse Fish Chicken & Grill.
