DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - A man was rescued from a house fire in Danville Thursday night. 

The Danville Fire Department was called to a fire in the 600 block of North Beard Street at 10:43 p.m. Firefighters found a detached garage fully engulfed with flames spreading into the house and threatening a nearby garage. 

Firefighters started to fight the fire. People who had ran out of the home told firefighters everyone was out. But while crews were performing a walk around of the house they saw a flashlight moving on the second floor. 

Crews quickly used a ladder truck to get up to the victim and rescue them. They were treated on scene and released. No firefighters were injured. 

DFD was on scene until just before 1 a.m. Friday. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Danville Fire Department and the Illinois State Fire Marshal's Office. 

Chief Aaron Marcott said, “This was a well-coordinated operation that directly resulted in a life being saved. The professionalism and teamwork of our firefighters reflect the training and commitment they bring to every call.”
