SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — A 51-year-old woman who was killed in a stabbing over the weekend has been identified.
Police found Misty Long with multiple stab wounds at a home in the 3000 block of Shadowfax Dr. late Saturday night. She was taken to Springfield Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 1:15 a.m. on June 29.
Her 16-year-old son was arrested on charges including first degree murder, aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery, and unlawful use of a weapon. He was taken to a juvenile detention facility over the weekend.
