WILLIAMSPORT, Penn. (WAND) — The Toronto Blue Jays and the Chicago Cubs will headline the 2027 MLB Little League Classic in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, the league announced. 

The game will take place Thursday, Aug. 19, 2027.

It will mark the 10th year of the annual showcase, hosted in connection with the Little League Baseball World Series.

In keeping with tradition, members of the Blue Jays and the Cubs will attend Little League World Series games earlier in the day. The Blue Jays will be the home team in the matchup.

The MLB launched the Little League Classic in 2017, and this will be the Cubs' first time playing in the matchup since they faced the Pirates in 2019.  

The Little League Baseball World Series is held each August in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. 

More than 70 players have appeared in the LLBWS and played in the MLB, including the Cubs' Michael Conforto, who played in the 2004 edition.

The MLB said Conforto is one of three players to appear in the LLBWS, the Men’s College World Series and the World Series.
