MONTICELLO, Ill. (WAND) - A book store in Monticello is closing after seven years in business.
Hartfield Book Co. announced on Facebook it will close at the end of May.
"Like most of life's big decisions, there's no single or simple reason. An accumulation of factors has made it the right choice for us. Right, but not easy," the owners posted.
Hartfield Book Co. said it will hold "one last big Indie Bookstore Day party" at the end of April. More details will be released later.
"We want to make sure that you have a chance to use your gift cards, that you know how to transfer your Libro.fm and Bookshop.org support to other great indie bookstores, that your pre-orders have been taken care of, that you know how to continue participating in book club and Sages Read, and that we give this magical bookshop the send-off it deserves," the shop said on Facebook.
