DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Youth With A Positive Direction is proud hosting an Open House in celebration of National Lights On After School Day next week.
The event will be held on Wednesday, October 22, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 2000 N. Main Street in Decatur.
The event will shine a light on the importance of after-school programs.
It is free and open to the public, and will include:

• Live Youth Demonstrations
• Speakers & Community Partners
• Refreshments
• Family Engagement
• Youth Activities & Giveaways
“Youth With A Positive Direction is committed to investing in our young people and providing safe, structured, and empowering environments after school,” said Shawn Wimberly, Program Director. “This Open House is not just an event — it’s a movement to keep the lights on for our youth, families, and our future.”
Community leaders, parents, organizations, and supporters are encouraged to attend and learn more about upcoming YWAPD programs, mentorship opportunities, and youth development initiatives.
