DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) -Â Macon County residents may have already noticed those familiar red kettles around the area, as the Salvation Army's bell ringing campaign is well underway.
A representative said the organization is just under 30% of its $140,000 goal.
The organization is always in need of more volunteers to help cover the county, and reminds those who donate to think about why every donation matters.Â
"There are families out there facing crises and situations that they've never had to face before. Give with joy. Give because, not because you feel obligated or guilted into it or anything like that. But give with the spirit of joy," said Major Susan Summit, a pastor at Macon County Salvation Army.Â
