MACON COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) - A second suspect charged with the murder of Caleb Witty who was extradited back to Macon County made his first appearance in a Macon County courtroom Thursday. Â
On June 5, 2024, Police arrested Michael I. Wallace, 34, and Bobby L. Gipson, 34, on first degree murder charges for the 2011 death of Caleb Witty.
Wallace appeared in court earlier this month and was denied per-trial release.
Gipson was extradited from Knox County, Tennessee. He appeared in court Thursday and was also denied pretrial release. Prosecutors cited his three previous felony convictions and three misdemeanor convictions. He currently remains in the custody of the Macon County Jail.
He is due back in court August 8.Â
