DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - A man arrested for a standoff with Danville police in November 2025 has been sentenced to five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.Â
Court records show that 36-year-old Marquil Brown of Georgetown will serve his sentence at 50% and receive credit for 109 days served.Â
Brown was also sentenced to one year of mandatory supervised release.Â
Danville police were called Nov. 14Â to the 2900 block of East Main Street when Brown was said to have visited a home armed with a handgun and acted erratically.Â
Police tried to contact Brown, but he refused to cooperate or leave the home.Â
Danville Police Emergency Response Unit (ERU) later went into the home and took Brown into custody.
Police found a gun during a search of the home, and Brown already had felony convictions and was on parole.Â
