DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — A 21-year-old man was found guilty by a jury for the murder of Stonee O. Adams.
A Macon County jury found Deonte M. Drake, of Decatur, guilty of first degree murder on Wednesday. Drake was arrested in April of 2022 in relation to the murder of Adams.
On April 9, 2022, Decatur Police responded to the 100 block of Dipper Lane in reference to shots fired. They said they found Adams in the parking lot of an apartment complex with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.
Drake was arrested later that afternoon and charged with first degree murder.

Drake's sentencing hearing has been set for November of this year.
