DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — Nicole Nash Moody is set to become the new superintendent for Decatur Public Schools.

According to a contract in the school board meeting packet for the board's February 24 meeting, Nash Moody will take over on July 1 pending a vote during the meeting.

Nash Moody will replace current superintendent Rochelle Clark, who announced her retirement in October 2024.

If approved, Nash Moody's contract will start on July 1, 2026 and end on June 30, 2029. Her annual salary will be $237,500.

Nash Moody is currently the assistant superintendent of teaching, learning and school culture for Springfield Public Schools.

She is set to be introduced to the community at a press conference on Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the Johns Hill Magnet School Auditorium.
