CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Champaign partnered with Acclivus Inc. to host community meetings regarding street outreach and violence interruption under the City's Community Gun Violence Reductions Blueprint (CGVRB).Â
The City of Champaign and Acclivus hosted four community meetings on Wednesday, Oct. 29, and Thursday, Oct. 30.Â
Champaign residents had the opportunity to attend one of the following meetings:
- Oct. 29: from 4-5 p.m. at the Providence at Thornberry; from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Y on the Fly
 - Oct. 30: from 2-3 p.m. at the Champaign Public Library; from 5-6 p.m. at the Housing Authority of Champaign County
 
The City stated that the meetings were meant to provide the community with information on street outreach goals/objectives for Champaign, hiring opportunities for street outreach and violence interruption, and a chance to meet with Acclivus staff and leadership.Â
According to its website, Acclivus is a Chicago-based organization that works towards supporting community health and well-being for those most vulnerable to violence and other negative social challenges.Â
