FORSYTH, Ill. (WAND) — A Decatur Public Schools employee facing child solicitation charges is dead, the McLean County Coroner confirmed.
Thad Olson was one of five men arrested during an Illinois State Police sting operation on August 21 and 22.
According to a sworn statements of their arrests, they thought they were setting up a meeting with underage girls.
The coroner did not provide details of how Olson died. He was facing charges of solicitation to meet a child and traveling to meet a child—which are Class 3 and Class 4 felonies, respectively.Â
