(WAND) - The University of Illinois is launching a new health and community wellness program through the U of I Extension.
The program combines two former teams into a single program to increase effectiveness.
Jennifer McCaffrey, assistant dean for health and community wellness, said it's a way to better serve families around the state in a time of growing need.
"Many families are facing cuts or limitations in terms of reaching healthcare access, finding food resources, looking at their caregiving resources for their family. And so with this new restructuring, we're better able to provide the resources that they and their families need," McCaffrey said.Â
