ST. JOSEPH, Ill. (WAND) - A woman was rushed to the hospital after being hit by a vehicle as she was walking in a crosswalk in St. Joseph Tuesday morning.Â
Champaign County Sheriff's deputies were called to the intersection of East Warren St. and Sout St. at 5:50 a.m.Â
Deputies said a truck driven by a 40-year-old St. Joseph man was turning north onto Stout St. from Warren St. when he hit a woman who was walking her dog in the crosswalk.
The 52-year-old St. Joseph woman was taken a local hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver was given a traffic citation and released.
