ARMSTRONG, Ill. (WAND) - Teachers at Armstrong Township High School keep students on their toes with the fun assignments and projects with STEM.
Like Science teacher Nathan Gayheart who makes it his goal to do projects they probably have never seen before.
“I really like to do things they’re going to remember because that’s the stuff they’ll remember when they leave school. They remember the kind of wow things, things they see for the first time, maybe only time.” stated Gayheart.
Math and Computer Science teacher Steven Dunlavey explains one of their project which you can find as soon as you walk through the front doors of the school.
“It’s called the photo booth. They wired up the cameras and everything for and hit the button and it uploads it so that staff can look and put it wherever it needs to go like the yearbook or social media.” said Dunlavey.
Students like Landon Freeman want other students to utilize what they learn in these courses to secure different job opportunities in the future.
“Sometimes STEM classes are harder but honestly I think if you put your work in and you have a good attitude about it, you can get more out of them and it leads to better careers sometimes.” said Freeman.
