BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WAND) — The Bloomington Police Department arrested a 35-year-old man on 44 counts of child pornography Thursday.
BPD's cyber crimes unit started an investigation on Aaron Ringo after a technology company made a report regarding the uploading and sharing of videos believed to be child sex abuse material.
Detectives executed multiple search warrants and found evidence leading to Ringo's arrest.Â
Ringo was charged with multiple felonies related to the possession and distribution of child pornography with victims under the age of 13.Â
"Although these crimes are very complicated, complex, and tough for our detectives, they remain laser focused in working cyber crime cases with a high level of determination," said Bloomington Police Chief Jamal Simington. "The victims deserve the very best protection and justice, and it is our focus and mission to do that."
Ringo was denied pretrial release and is still in custody.
