(WAND) - For many families affected in Long Creek, the American Red Cross is stepping up to provide help where it can.

Around a dozen volunteers have helped with recovery efforts so far.

However, more volunteers are always appreciated, and it does not just have to involve boots on the ground.

"Let's just say that for whatever reason, they are not able to be on the ground helping those affected by the tornado. But I stood in the parking lot and talked to someone who said, 'You know I can't do much, but I can roll up my sleeve and give blood, and that's my way of giving back,'" said local Red Cross Executive Director Dawn Morris.
