SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) -Â A 16-year-old girl was taken to the hospital following a shooting incident late Thursday night, according to Springfield police.
The Springfield Police Department reported that officers responded to a call about shots fired in the 1900 block of S 19th St.
Upon arrival, they located a 16-year-old who'd been shot. She was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The police stated that the investigation is ongoing, and no further information will be released at this time.
