HERVEY CITY, Ill. (WAND) - The towing community mourned the loss of 48-year-old, Gregory Hostetler, Tuesday night at a vigil service.
Hosterler was shot and killed in an altercation Monday afternoon. He was the owner of Greg's Towing & Recovery as well as Five Star Auto Sales in Hervey City.
On Tuesday, others in the business, friends, and family gathered to ignite the sky with flashing lights and remember the life of Hostetler.Â
Organizers of the event told WAND News that tow workers are just everyday people, working to make a living and care for their family, and have a bond few will understand.
"It's a brotherhood that nobody will get," said James Gillenwater. "It's just like law enforcement, EMT, Fire Department. We have our brotherhood and it doesn't matter if we have our good days or bad days, we're still there for each other."
A GoFundMe page has been made in the wake of Hostetler's death to help the family pay for funeral expenses.
