DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — The historic Powers Mansion is back on the market in Decatur after about two years.
The mansion built in 1909 was bought by Norma Fick in 2023 at auction. Fick then went through a half-year long process in the courts to evict the occupants.
Since taking it over, Fick had the roof repaired and removed the large dead tree next to the house that may have caused the damage.
In May 2024, Fick hosted an open house event to the public for almost a thousand people across Illinois to see the mansion in its "as is" state.
Now, the home is listed for sale at $299,950. According to History of the Heartland, Fick and her daughter hope to recover the costs put into buying and protecting the property.
