WAND Sports introduces a brand new segment, Athlete of the Week presented by Midwest Technical Institute!

Each week, sports director Gordon Voit, Mark Pearson and Orlando Toatley put the spotlight on a local high school athlete who is excelling as a student and community member as well!

Week 23: Addison Newbon (St. Teresa basketball) 

Addison Newbon has become a force to be reckoned with on the basketball court. As a Junior, she is leading the St.Teresa basketball team in points with 22.2 per game and rebounds with 9.2 per game.

Newbon is also dominating in the classroom she has a 3.7 GPA and she is apart of the National Honor Society.

Along with that, she volunteers with her school to help get kids involved in their community.

Her teammates describe her as genuine and a great leader.
