As a senior at Tri-City/Sangamon Valley high school Ashlyn Sturdy is doing some awesome things.

Sturdy s averaging 20.2 PPG APG, 5.6 RPG and 4 steals PG. With that production, she has helped lead TCSV to two Macon County tournament championships.

But Being WAND's Athlete of the Week is not just about what you do in your field of play it's also about what you do in the classroom and in your community.

Sturdy is excelling in both, she is not only her class valedictorian with a 4.3 GPA, she also serves as a peer tutor in the subjects of both math and science.

In college, Ashlyn wants to continue her basketball career and study pre-med.
